last night was absofuckinglutely wonderful. i have a story to tell, which is after this little bit. racetrack was the first band, they were good, but their singer was super quiet and you could hardly hear her voice even though she was a great guitarist. they sounded like emo/pop/rock. their bassist was trying to pull off the skinny indie kid look, what with the tight, low-slung pants where they show off their tightee wightees and have a tiny t-shirt on. but he was to chubby and you could see half his ass, which was a little disgusting. math and physics club=wonderful. bliss. i almost cried during a few songs, but i always do because, to some peoples surprise, i am easily touched. and these were tears of happiness. the pale pacific played their first two songs as the pale, and then, after explaining about how they were going to be sued over their name because there was another band named the pale, they told us about free stickers and buttons that said the pale, and 5 dollar pale t-shirts. and then they were the pale pacific. you could tell they were having so much fun up there. they were all grinning, grabbing each others asses, biting each others arms, kissing cheeks...it was wonderful poppy greatness. and their frontman/keyboardist/rhythm guitarist loved that keyboard so much.

and now, my story!

so, the math and physics club were setting up, and the violinist keeps looking at me. finnaly she bends down and goes, "are you sarah?" and i answer with "yes". and then she tells me about how she always guesses peoples names. i see her off talking to other members of the band...so after they play their set, they're taking their stuff down and charles (the frontman) comes over to me, and kind of sits on the edge of the stage and goes "are you sarah?" and i answer with "yes". and then he smiles all big and holds out his hand and goes "i'm charles, and that email you sent us was so sweet and kind. i was feeling so bad after that performance on KEXP because i thought we played really bad. and when i came home and saw that, i felt so good." and then i told him about how i taped it, and he laughs, and then he goes and keeps taking stuff off the stage. about ten minutes later, he comes over, still smiling and he hands me a setlist. i kept on stroking it, i felt so special. so after the pale pacific play an awesome set, i go over to buy a math and physics club t-shirt, and he waves at me and is all lke "hi, sarah!" like we're best friends lol. and he points me out to all the people in the band and hes like "its sarah! the one who signed our guest book!" and they were all like "sarah!" and they were all telling me about how sad and mopey he was that night until he got that email. and he was like "i hope to see you again soon!"
